Katya Ross is an animator and illustrator and is NOT colorblind, so please stop asking.
After a past life as a brand designer working with tech startups in the Bay Area, she moved to Portland, Oregon, to boldly fumble her way into full-time freelancing, and has not looked back since. Likely because she has a distinctly shrimp-like posture from too much computer time.

She dabbled in corporate design, dipped a toe into print and packaging, tried on the hat (or beanie, rather) of marketing agency bro, and had a brief and perilous standoff with editorial illustration before ultimately ascending to the sacred art of animating colorful animals screaming and/or dancing to upbeat tunes, as determined by popular request in the comment section. That’s right: content creation.

Her career has somehow been allowed to last over a decade, and now has about a million folks online following along to see if she can keep it up. The income streams that feed the boggy pond of her freelance practice are fascinating, fickle, but quite fun: from sponsored snack ads to livestreaming with Adobe to a booming sticker shop—who knows what she’ll be up to next? Not her.

She does not take herself too seriously, and neither should you. In fact, probably don’t hire her and avoid eye contact if forced to encounter.
